Izmailovo Kremlin
Izmailovsky Kremlin — a fairy tale in reality, a stone's throw from the Vega Hotel
A unique cultural complex, the Izmailovsky Kremlin, is located just a few minutes' walk from the Vega Hotel. Founded in 2003 on the site of the former royal estate, it was built on a hill near the picturesque shores of the Silver Grape Pond and is surrounded by wooden walls and bright towers in the traditions of ancient Russian architecture. Here, during the reign of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, there was an exemplary Romanov farm with a linen manufactory, glassblowing and brick factories. It was in these places that the young Peter I found his famous boat "Saint Nicholas" — the beginning of the Russian fleet, as recalled by the tiles on the facades of buildings created in the pottery workshop of the Kremlin itself.
The heart of the complex is the Church of St. Nicholas of Myra, which was founded first, as required by ancient tradition. An architectural ensemble grew up around it with the white—stone Palace of the Russian refectory, decorated with murals and crowned with a griffin, the symbol of knowledge and the emblem of the house of Romanov. The Kremlin has craft workshops, museum exhibitions, a Wedding Palace and a Lyceum, and each celebration hall immerses guests in the world of Russian epics and fairy tales. This place is not just a landmark, but a living space where family traditions and the spirit of Russian culture are revived. Staying at the Vega Hotel, you will find yourself at the very gates of this real Moscow fairy tale!
